My twelfth year of school and eleventh grade is winding down. We only have 17 more days of school and all of my classes are wrapping up. I took my AP US History exam last week and I feel like I did really well on it. I have my AP English Language exam Wednesday and I am just finishing measurement topics and level fours in my other 4 classes. I decided to run for Senior Class Vice-President next year, running for President just was not logical for me and then it opens up the ability for me to be the president of a club.
It feels so surreal that I only have one more year of school, one more season of swimming, and one more year at home before I go off to college. Speaking of swimming, I just swam at our East Sequoia League meet last Friday and the Division 2 Valley Championships on Friday. My swim season went really well, and I knocked a lot of time off of my events. It is bitter sweet knowing next season is my last, but I am excited for it to start up again next winter. I am looking super-forward to this summer, as we are going up to Washington for a weekend and then Chicago for three weeks. My greatest and most memorable times are in Illinois, and I cannot wait to see my cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and a lot of friends while we are there.
Junior year really has not been easy at all times. There have been challenges as well as some really exciting things. My classes have been without a doubt the hardest of my life, and the work has been constant. Everyone says, “Junior year is hard, Senior year is stressful” and if that is true, I deal pretty well with stress and typically do not get myself into stressful binds. The entire college application and planning of the future process is somewhat exciting to me so I feel like next year should be interesting as well as exciting. I am still striving to for straight level fours and have been trying to fill out a strong resume to guarantee myself as many options as possible.
I am taking my SAT June 6th and I am hoping my score will reach my goal so I can just take it once or twice. With more rigorous classes, AP exams, the SAT and a lot of EOTs I have learned how to study and prepare for a test, which I believe will be very helpful in college. My study skills, and analysis of the information have improved immensely this school year as well. I have also learned that I really love the end of the school year, it feels so nice to have everything that I have left to do on a checklist and I can just cruise through the work and cross off classes as I go. To be so close to the end of a long, grueling class feels so good and I love the feeling of finishing each class; it feels like such an accomplishment even though I have already finished so many in my lifetime. As my junior year comes to a close, I really appreciate all of my teachers hard work, energy and enthusiasm they put into teaching everyday as well as my great school. But at this point, summer vacation could not come any faster.
